Sir Saul Samuel has purohased a further collection of relics of Captain Cook, which have lately been discovered in a secret recess of Sir Joseph Banks' museum. Messrs. Bayard, Field, and Phelps will probably represent the United States on the Fishery Commission. London, 16th September. It is expected it will be necessary to permit foreign exhibitors to apply for spaoo at the Melbourne Exhibition until the end of November. Splendid street pageants were held in Fhiladelpia to oelobrate the centenary of the Constitution of the United States. DuriDg the progress of the festival a stand collapsed, injuring many of tho occupants. Spain has attempted to occupy an island in the Bed Sea, but England was beforehand, and hoisted the British flag first.
