A Popular Inspector,
[By Telegraph. (Our Own Correspondent.) New Pltmouth, This Day. A letter was road at the Education Board from the Teachers' Association, eulogising the School Inspecter, and intimating that the teachers in the district " viewed with regret the motion tabled at the last m'eotjng of the Board," which was for the purpoße 'of reducing -the salary of the Inspector from .£450 to £350. ' This document goes on to say, " that having regard to tho welfare of the district the teachers ask the Board to consider well the effect of causing j Mr. Murray to resign his position." The Herald^ commenting on the matter, says this rit letter has all the elements , ut ft or a threat to tne Board, uit may expect to hear of a' strike amongst the school teachers if an attempt is made to reduce the salary of their Inspector.' We, however, hope the Board will carry out its intended economies, and at the same time by resolution tell their teachers to mind their own business in the future.
