The Union Company's Maiiposa sai'ed this afternoon for Auckland in route for San Francisco. The rumour that Mr. Dibbs, the Colonial Treasurer, was about to resign in consequence of a disagreement with Sir Patriok Jennings, proves to bo without foundation. The official inquiry in connection with tho Koilawarra disaster was concluded to-day. The decision of the Board will bo made known on Friday next. The Executive Council will reconsider on Tuesday next tho coses of the prisoners condemned to death in connection with tho Mount Rennio outrage. Adelaide, 29th December. Tho total insurances on the property destroyed by the Bundle-street firo amount to .£33,000. Tho following aro tho amounts to which Now Zealand insurance companies aro affected : — Equitable, of New Zoaland, £800; National, of New Zealand, £500; New Zealand Insurance Company, .£7OOO, of which J33500 was reinsured; South British, .62000.
