The Agents-General have discussed tho scheme of Sir Charles Tupper, High CoramiEsioner for Canada, in which he proposes to lay down a, cable from Vancouver Island to Auckland; also the question of a now mail sorvico to Sydney in 29 days. Tho opioiori of the meeting on the subjects referred to was not of a sanguine nature. Mr. Bryco leaves for New Zealand by the steamer Tainui on Thursday next. Mr. Rusden offers him one thousand pounds as an indemnity for the trouble, expense, and costs of action up to date. Lord Granviilo is enquiring of the several colonies whether they will be prepared to receive married couples and their families, an assuranco being given that no paupers will be sont, if suitablo financial arrangemonts can be made for their passage to the colonies.
