The Missing Men.
* The efforts which have been made to discover the bodies of the men who wore drowned in Evans' Bay on Moaday have got up to the present been attendod with any buoocss. It was roportod to the polioe last night that a corpse had been pioked up on the boach near Point Harwell,' and early thia morning Mounted-constable Romor was told off to proceed to tho spot indicated and tako possession of the body. Tho officer accordingly rode round to tno beach, but waa unable to find a dead body there or anywhere else along hii route. Ho has been instructed to make another search of the beaoh ronnd Evani Bay tomorrow, should the wholo of the bodies not be discovered in the moantitno. Sergeant Lyons was engaged for several hours this morning in searching the beach between Thcmdon and Petone, bnt failed to discover any of the bodies. Constable Carroll is going over the aamo gronnd this afternoon. It is said that the fifth man who waa seen in the boat before she sank was most probably a labourer named Costello, residing in Taranaki-streot, who intended to go over to the defenco *orks on Monday, and who has not been seen or heard of since the afternoon of that day.
