IjAert & Campbell roport :— " The supply of fruit during the past week has been somewhat more plentiful ; but, owing to the high prices ob. mining at shipping ports, no alteration has taken }>l»co except for oranges, whioh aro about Is ower; the prices of all fruit, however, at present birely pay first cost and charges. Dairy produce is quite unquotable, as there has been none in tho market for a long time. Potatoes are now becoming very firm and higher prices may be expected for some time | farmers are, we beliavo, holding for au ndvauce, which makes them scarce and dear in the meantime, but, as a rule, recoils on the farmers themselves at the close of the Bxason. Sorer.il parcels of maize have been offering during the week, but sellers aro undetermined > wbat price to ask. Maize, at the best, has only a limited value, as beans and oats, with other grain will always pvevont it beinir indispensable, deed potatoes are moving very slowly this season.
