FIRE AT ONEHUNGA.
♦ •By Tblkgbaph.j (united pbxBs association.] Auckland, This Day. Shortly after 12 last night Boe's sawmill at Onehonga was burned. Two men Bleeping in tha upper story had a narrow escape, being compelled to jump through the flames. The night watchman states that ihortly before 12
we paß^cd the front of the building, wh«n all has apparently safe. On returning he disj covered the whole front to be burning, and there was no time to utilise the appliances on the premises for suppressing the flames. There being no fire service iv Onehunga tho firo burnt itself out. Fortunately the wind wa9 blowing fresh from the north-east or the mill sheds and a portion of the town would have Buffered. The mill and outbuildings were insured in the Colonial offioo for £850, but it is probable the loss to ttfd company will not excoed .£SOO. Mr. Roe estimates the uninsured loss at .£3OOO.
