I Br Telegraph. J I UNITED TttESS ASSOCIATION. J Nelson, 6fch December. A Friendly Society's case was decided today. A man named Harris injured his left hand by a gun accident, necessitating the amputation of ono finger, and was attended &t the Hospital. On being discharged there, he went under the surgeon of Court Robin Hood (Foresters), who ultimately declared him off the funds, and the sick pay was stopped. Harris brought an action against the Court to recover further sick pay, alleging that he could nob follow his av«oation as an engineer. The Court officers set up that Harris had beei engaged as a dealer and agent, and that he was able to follow those or other light employments. The Resident Magistrate held that employment did not necessarily mean thai; employ me at to which a man had been brought up, and that tho plaintiff was shown to have been able to carry on the work of a dealer from the time ke was declared off the fnnds. Judgment was given for defendants, with costs.
