Christcuuech, 22nd October. The directors of tho Corn Exchange have drawn up questions to candidates at the present elections, asking if they are in favour of lowering the railway tariff and the appointment of a Minister of Agriculture ; and they will support only such as answer favourably. Timaru, 23rd Ootober. Mr. William Postleth wai te" received a vote of thanks and confidence at Geraldine on Friday night. He declared himself a supporter of the present Ministry. Hamilton, This Day. Mr. Whitaker addressed hi 3 constituents at Hamilton on Saturday night. In his address he referred to the measures passed during the last Parliament, and the greatly improved financial aspect of the colony. He said the policy for the future would probably be " Protection and co-operation." At the close of his address a unanimous vote of confidence was carried.
