It has transpired that his Honour Mr. Justice Hargraye, Primary Jud^e in Equity, has resigned his seat on the Bench. It is expected that Sir George Innes, Minister of Justice, will be his successor. Dr. Ren wick, M.L.A. for East Sydney, has been appointed Secretary for Mines, vice the Hon. E. A. Baker, who resigned the portfolio in August last. Melbourne, This Day. Sailed, yesterday afternoon— Union's Co.'s steamship Rotomahana, for the Bluff. Goldabrough's wool sales opened here yesterday. There was a good attendance of Home and foreign buyora, and there was good competition. Copious rain ia now falling throughout Victoria. The embezzlement of by two clerka in the employ of Messrs. Kionheirner and Co. has been discovered. The books of the firm have been falsified by the defraudors, who have absconded. Port Darwin, 13th October. The mails and passengers of the steamer Brisbane have been lauded here, but the vessel is still on the reef.
