(UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION. | Bombay, 12th August. Later particulars of the fight betweon Ayoub Khan and tho Ameer, on the 27th July, state that sixteen guns and five laks of rupees fell into Ayoub's hands, though it is rumoured hia own men plundered his baggage during the engagement, and his loss in men was much moro severe than the Ameer's. It is also said that one of the regiments which went over to Ayoub's side during the engagement haa again deserted and gone off in the direction of Kelat-i-Ghilzai. Brißk preparations are carried on by Ayoub for an advance on Cabul. Southern Afghanistan may now be said to bo completely under the authority of Ayoub Khan. On the 30th July he followed his viotory of tho 27th up by entering and taking possession of Candahar The change of authority was readily accepted by the people, and latest reports state that trade has been roBurned and everything remains quiet in the city. It is generally understood that no further assistance will bo rendered to the Ameer by the Indian Government.
