The Boarding Department is conducted by the Resident Master and Mrs. Fearnley. The regular course of instruction embraces Anoient ard Modern Languages, History, and Literature, Mathematics, Political and Physical Geography, and tho Elements of Natural Science. Nelson College is affiliated to the New Zealand University, and examinations for University Students are held annually. In connection with this institution there are twenty-four Scholarships, open to competition as they become vacant, tenable for from one to three years, and varying in value from £5 to £52 10s a year each. A special prize of £6, called the " Simmons' Prize," is awarded annually for excellence in English and English Literature.
