» Mr. Levin has piloted the Wellington Queen's Wharf Sales Bill safely through the Local Bills Committee, and it will be brought forward in due course ready for its second reading. Sir George Grey's Local Government Bill has been draftsd, and is ready for a "first reading." There is some feeling now that the polltax on Chinese ought to be increased, and an effort will probably be made to have the Bill re-committed in order to increase the tax to .£SO.
