Mr. Bradlaugh has written a letter to the Speaker of the House of Commons, protesting against his expulsion, and declaring that the same is illegal. Sir Wilfrid Lrfw'son ifcts given notice in the Honse of Commons of a motitta sotting fofth that the action of the Speaker in fofbicldlng Mr. Bradlaugh's presence within the precincts of Parliament is illegal. The Standard to-day publishes a telegram from the Transvaal, Btating that the troubles between the Boers and the natives have culminated in open hostilities, fighting of a severe character having taken place between them. I Consols are unchanged at 102$. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £15,250,000. The Bank rate remains at 2|, and the market rate of disconnt at 2 per cent. Hilaire (Minister for Foreign Affairs) made a further statement in the Chambers' to-day as to the intentions of the French Government toward Tunis. He announced that it had been decided to demand substantial guarantees from the Bey that the permanent quietude of the TunisAlgerian frontier would be scoured. He further made a complete disavowal of the belief which exists that the policy of the Government was directed toward the annexation of Tunis by France. St. Pbtkbsburg, 12th May. SeriouS riots, arising out of a strong antiJewish feeling, have occurred in Several towns in southern Ruusia. The oonflidts have, in some instances, been most severe, and attended with much bloodshod.
