ANOTHER BULLETIN LIBEL ACTION. THE VICTOEIAN REFORM BILL. TASMANIAN CENSUS. (bittteb'b tklkgkams.l Sydney, 11th May. The lessee of the Clontarf Pleasure Grounds, in Middle Harbor, has brought an action for libel against the proprietors of the Sydney Bulletin, on account of a paragraph which appeared some time ago in that paper. The trial commenced on Thursday, the sth instant, and has continued daily, but it is unlikely that the case will be concluded this week. The action is attracting great attention, and the Court has been crowded daily. Adelaide, 11th May. The Hon. G. S. Fowler has resigned his position as Colonial Treasurer in the Ministry owing to ill-health. This Day. Mr. W. B. Rounswell has been appointed Colonial Treasurer in the place of Mr. Fowler, resigned. Hobabt, This Day. The census tf ken on the 3rd April shows the population of Tasmania to be 116,000. Melbourne, 11th May. In the Legislative Council to-day the consideration of the Reform Bill in Commi tee waa concluded. Several important amendments were carried, and the bill was read a third time and ordered to be returned to the Assembly. Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association : — London, 10th May. The Orient Company's steamer Cotopaxi, which left Melbourne on 30th March, arrived at Plymouth yesterday. This Day. At its rising last night the Legislative Council adjourned until Tuesday next, when the Assembly will consider the Reform Bill as amended by the Council. It is generally believed that there are hopes of a compromise being effected, and a settlement of the difficulty between the two houses being arrived at. The P. and O. Company's steamship Rosetta, with the homeward Suez mails, sailed from this port on Tuesday morning last.
