THE GOVERNOR AT DUNEDIN.
+ ItTNITBD PBSSS ASSOCIATION. J DxmtXDTS, 15th March. This morning the Governor was driven as far as Blueakin, and afterwards visited the Botanical Gardens. In the afternoon a le>ee took place in the Town Hall, when an address of welcome was presented by the City Council, to whioh the Gqvernor made the following reply: — "I thank you for yoor address and cordial welcome, as well as for the wish yon express that I should not only visit the district, but spend some time annually in the southern part of New Zealand. My present stay among you is necessarily Bhort, but it is impossible to pay even the most hurried visit to your city without being atruok by its rapid development and the activity of industry which pervades it; or without deriving from the fact the fullest conviction that no temporary check can seriously retard the progress of this colony."
