WELLINGTON STINKS. TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST.
Sib— The calm, delightful weather we have been favored with the last few weeks cannot be enjoyed (especially in the evenings) by those residing within a radius of about a mile of the Adelaide Road Soap Works in consequence of the sickening effluvia of burning fat emitted during some of the interesting processes carried on at that establishment. Last evening it was worse than usual, and sufficiently offensive to produce nausea in many persons. Surely something can be done to mitigate the nuisance. The Corporation license possessed by the manufactory cannot possibly authorise suoh an abominable stenoh as that inflicted on unoffending burgesses at the present time. Craving your assistance, lam, &c., X. Adelaide Road, 16th March, 1880.
