Official reports from Cashmere say it is impossible to exaggerate the distress which the famine is causing* in the Mawripaha province. At the urgent request of the people the Viceroy of India is proceeding to Seringin to superintend the inauguration of relief. About 3500 tons of grain are in transit to the Valley of Cashmere. The Ameer of Afghanistan will start for Cabul on the Btb, and after making a tour of inspection through his kingdom he will visit the Viceroy of India. The visit will take place about the end of next winter.
