Advices from Cape Town to June 10th state tbst General Newdegate had advanced to Selfe Riverand taken up an entrenched position. -Major-General Crealock Lad crossed the river Umbalasi, and established a base of operations with Port Durnford. A fresh attempt by the colonial troops to take Moirisis stronghold was unsuccessful.
