THE ZULU WAR. (FROM PRESS AGENCY CORRESPONDENT.) Capetown, 17th May.

since my last letter there has been no sorious engagement. Convoys on their way from Fort Poarson to the Amatakulu River hnd slight skirmishes witk the enemy, but in all ease* they safely reached their destinations. Every preparation has been made for a fresh advance, which is expected to tako place on tbe 25tii. it would have taken place before but for tho difficulties of transport, which are so great it was impossible. The advaace will be made in three columns. General Crealock commands the Lower Tugela column, which is composed of the Naval Brigade and the ' Frontier Light Horse., besides the Regulars ; the other, at Doornberg, under General Newdegate, is composed of dragoons, lancers, and infantry- General Wood has removed his camp from Kambula to the Queen's Kraal, on the White Umvolosi, and commands a flying column. Owing to the transport difficulty the infantry will be unable to advance beyond Handnian's Drift; but some regiments of cavalry, with six guns, will make a forced march on Uiundi. ' - A native who lately arrived at Lower Tugela reports that Cetewayo burnt his kraal, and retired to the north-west of hi 9 country. Dabularoauzi, the Zulu general at Isandula, has not , come in yet, and a report is current that while on his way to surrender he was met by a Zulu impy, and a fight ensued in which he was killed. The affair on tho northern border is virtually over. Two native strongholds were taken, and their leaders, .Lucas and M'Carthy, shot. Morroisi hBS still a stronghold in^Basuto-land, but a heavy Armstrong gun, which has been given to the Government by tho Free State, will soon be in position, and cause an easy surrender. ~
