Sik— lt has been from time immemorial tha prescriptive right of Englishmen to grumble, but 1 do Dot think I am displaying this national idiosyncracy without lurt cause, when I protest against tbe roid to Wadestown. through the town belt, being allowed to degenerate into a mere water course No doubt Wadestown residents do not pay any great amount oi city rates, but considering tint they spsnd the greaier portion of their hard earnel money in Wellington, I think they have a right to ask that tbe road by which they reach town may be kept iv a decent state of repair.
