The Bay of Islands Electoral Commission closed to-day. Bryce examined Lawlor with reference to the resignation of Williams, late Registration Officer. He said that Williams received notice to resign oa the day before the Revision Court eat, and asked witness's advice. He said in reply, "You had better obey orders." Witness also deposed that Captain Baker did not receive the appointment to appear and object until the evening of the day on which the Court sat, and therefore too late. Bryce said that other evidence showed that Baker actually attended. Bryce returns to Wellington on Wednesday. James Delaney has been seriously gored by a cow. The man was an inmate ot the hospital, and was taking a stroll round Mount Eden, when a cow rushed him and threw him a considerable distance. The wounds are serious. Goodtellow, the professional runner, did not win any event at the Kaitangata relief fund sports. Another day's sports for his special benefit will be held. Four boys were charged at the police court this morning with breaking into a store and stealing goods. The eldest, named Cox, aged thirteen years, was recently released after a term of imprisonment for fruit stealing. The evidence showed that he formed a gang of juvenile thieves. Another boy ia tbe gang was also recently released from gaol. The Magistrate sentenced Cox to four months' imprisonment and a whipping. Another was sentenced to two months with a flogging. The others to six weeks, without a flogging.
