THE GHOSTLY REQUISITION. TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST.

Sir— The letter from " A Thorndon Ratepayer," with the above heading, is a poor attempt to be fanny at the expense of facts. I saw Jane Hindge sign the requisition ; her name is on the roll of ratepayers ; And Jam Hindge is entitled to vote at the coming' election. Did the idea never enter into the muddled brain of your correspondent that James Hindge was a mistake of the printer. *This is not the only mistake inprinting the requisition, in which we have Rex for Foie. There is nothing surprising in this, as many signatures are difficult to make out. I am, tec., F. DOWBETT. Oth September, 1877. ;
