AN IMPENDING VISITATION.
» ¦ i The following telegram has just come to hand : — New Plymouth, Oth Septemlier. TO THE EDITOR OP THE EVENING POBT. Look out for two lunatics, who have lately left New Plymouth. They are supposed to be on board the steamer Taupo. , 5 Geo. Boswilliam. 1 Now, really this is too bad. Why the dickens should we be asked, In addition to our other many and multifarious duties, " to look out for two lunatics ? " Does our correspondent suppose that it is the special business of the Editor of an evening newspaper to look out for lunatics— more especially lunatics from Taranaki— who are invariably violent, raving maniacs, hopeless of cure. * If our officious correspondent should li^ppen to;coW down to Wellington and 'look us up. he 'will probably hear ot something to his advantage. An excellent "straight waistcoat" is ready for him.
•' Women," reirarkcd the contemplative man, " are as deep as the blue waters of you bay." " Ay, oir," rejoined the dissappoiutedi man, " and as full of- craft." •' * ¦ 7.
