CHRISTCHURCH. 25th August.
The annual poultry, pigeon, and canary exhibition to-day was a great success. There were 372 entries, being 120 more than last year. The quality of the exhibits is very good. A pigeon -race took place during the day from Ashburton to Christchurch. The winner flew the distance (fifty-six miles) against a strong breeze, in one hour, forty minutes, twelve seconds.
