ARTILLERY RIFLE MATCHES.

The last of the series of the Wellington Artillery firing matches took pi ace yesterday, when the Wellington and Auckland Artillery were the competitors. Wellington scored 7i.3 points, and Auckland 656, the former heing the winners by 107 points. It- will thus be seen that Wellington nas won all the matches. The various matches resulted as follows : — Wellington v. Cbriatchurch. — Wellington, 733; Christchurch, 631. Majority for Wellington, 102. Wellington v. Napier. — Wellington, 732; Napier, 678. Majority for Wellington, 54. Wellington v. Nelson.— Wellington, 766; Nelson, 610. Majority for Wellington, Ifj6. Wellington v. Dunedin. — Wellington, 718; Dunedin, 649. Majority for Wellington, 69. Wellington v. Invefeargill. — Wellington, 757 ; Invercargill. 624. Majority for Wellington, 113. Wellington y. Auckland.— Wellington, 763 ; Auckland, 656. Majority for Wellington, 107. Wellington r. *Akaroa. — Wellington, 739. Not accepted. • In the case of Akaroa, it was discovered after the Wellington men had fired that the challenge sent had not been accepted.
