12th February. Correspondence between the Civio Authorities aud the General Government re Grant to Municipalities is published. The Trea-ury supports our Town Clerk's contention, thac Dunedin is entitled to a subsidy upon its gross annual rates, and not upon the residue left for expenditure on municipal purposes after payment of permanent charges. This is a great gain to all the Otago municipalities. Sir J. Vog -1 telegraphs that he hopes to visit Dunedin very soon. „ ?
