Finished 6.19 p.m. • Additional Fijian News.-—Week-er's plantation has been sacked by mountaineers.— The hurricane season has passed over without a single gale. — There was a disturbance amongst the natives on Mr Rtnney's plantation at Maro. Mr Renney was wounded in the head with an axe, his arm was grazed with a bullet, and in the stomach with a spear. "Vauglmn, a man in his employ, was shot, it is believed fatally. — The King's troops sacked the towns concerned in Burn's murder. 20th May. Lodged 9.20 a.m. Finished 9.56 cum. A telegram from Cambridge reports that Mr Mackay had gone to Whutu, 30 miles from Cambridge, when the messengers arrived from Tokongatuutu. They refused to communicate anything until Mr Mackay's arrival, Mr Mackay returned late after a favorable meeting with the Ngatimukawa Kingiteß, who promised to be neutral iv the eyent of war. Mr Mackay has started for Alexandra to overtake Rewi's messenger. Purukutu has returned from Te Kuiti, and is now in the Pukekura ranges, in a Maori settlement. Fires have been seen in the Pukekura range* j by the patrol. Rumours have caused the settlers to come in, • Mauy of the settlers have joined cavalry corps, in anticipation of the militia being called out. Colonel Lyon, and a staff of 15 men of the Armed Constabulary arrived this afternoon. Cambridge will henceforth be the cavalry head-quarters. Sixty of the Armed Constabulary are now there. The steamer Rangiriri is coming up the river with a detachment of friend lies;; / | ■ \ *: ,■ I, ' ' The settlers on the other side of the river, have concentrated and keep A close watch. Lodged 10.30 a.m. ' Finished 11,3 a.m. : * Alexandra — The friendly natives sent by Mr Mackay Jbo Tawhiao have returned. They say the King blames the land-leasing of the Queenites as the cause of the murder, and that he says he canuot give up the murderers without the consent of the whole, of the tribes. He is anxious to maintain peace, and will not fight unless forced to do so. If the Europeans go through .his country to capture the murderew he will not interfere. He denounces the leasing of land. ,
