The First Prizes at this show were again awarded to Clayton and Shuttleworth, viz: — The First Prizes for the Horizontal Fixed Engine of 10 HP j First Prizes for Steam Engine with boiler combined. At the previous trials' of steam engines at Bury, 1867, Clayton and Shuttleworth took all" the First Prizes for Engines, also a prize of £15 for Thrashing Machines, and the Society's Silver Medal. Clayton and Shuttleworth have received First Prizes at all Trials of the Boyal Agricultural Society of England, at which they have competed since 1849. N.B.— All the principal Makers of Portable Engines,' &c, compete for this Society's Prizes, being the only trials in Great Britian conducted by competent and impartial engineers, and where the capability and value of each engine is thoroughly tested by practical experiments.
