Miss P. McMaster has been appointed a probationary assistant teacher at the Leeston Consolidated School, to begin duty in February.

At the Leeston Consolidated School on Wednesday afternoon the children assembled to bid farewell to Miss M. A. Gallen, who relinquishes her position on the school staff at the end of this year. The headmaster (Mr W. H. Cartwright), in presenting- Miss Gallen with a gift on behalf of the children and staff, spoke in appreciation of the good work she had done in the school and wished her every success in the future. Miss Gallen, in expressing thanks for the gift, said that she had spent a very happy year at Leeston.
