At Southbridge

"MEN AGAINST THE SKY" ON

SATURDAY

Revealing glimpses of the actual

steps in designing and testing new aircraft are disclosed for the first time on the screen in the vivid drama of modern aviation, "Men Against the Sky," which will be screened at Southbridge Talkies on Saturday. . Richard Dix, Kent Taylor, Edmund Lowe and Wendy Barrie are featured in this timely offering which deals with the romance of an engineer and a pretty draftswoman, and the heroic sacrifice of the latter's brother, a discredited stunt flyer. The action is laid in and around a plane factory, where the fastest pursuit ship in the world is created during the course of the gripping story. An additional touch of realism is injected into the film with the appearance .of Howard Hughes' famous 400,000 dollar racing plane which won the American transcontinental speed record of 7 hours 28 minutes 25 seconds. Some kind of Hollywood record was set in employing eleven cameras on one sequence of this feature. | It was a flying scene using the Howard Hughes record-breaking plane, and with a limited time allotment and the terrific speed of the plane it was necessary to "shoot" it from all possible angles simultaneously. J The picture has been described as one of the most exciting and unique dramas of modern aeronautics to be seen for many years.
