Lincoln

J The monthly meeting of the St. j Stephen's Guild was held at the residence of Mrs James Henry, Mrs W. Kimber. presiding. Two new members, Mrs V. Hannah and Mrs J. W. Stewart were welcomed. Afternoon tea and social chat brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. Those present were Mesdames W. Kimber, Thos. Medlin, W. Tucker, senr., H. Greaves, G. S. Peryman, W. Gree'nslade, W. Jordan, J. Henry, V. Hannah, C. L. Sparrow, Misses Ruth Henry, Lois Sparrow, Mary Hannah, Betty Medlin. A social was held in the Lincoln Hall on Saturday in aid of the Tennis Club. The music was supplied by Mr Fitzgibbon's Orchestra and extras were played by Miss Jocelyn Fitzgibbon. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr J. G. Greaves. Winners of cards were Mrs Gordon Peryman and Mrs Thos. Medlin and Messrs E. Greaves and G. Norquay. Monte Carlos were won by Miss Audrey Court and Mr F. Lancaster and Mrs Chas Watkins and Mr B. P. Moran. Personal Mr)s Douglas Morris has returned to Rakaia after spending the week-end with Mrs S. C. Birch, Lincoln. Miss Nola Brown, Lincoln, who has been a patient in the Christchurch Public Hospital for the last fortnight, has returned home. Mrs I. W. Weston- is spending a holiday in the North Island. Mrs J. Henry and Miss Ruth Henry, Lincoln, were the guests of Mrs J. Tullock, Opawa, for the week-end.
