MEMBERS FAREWELLED

Last evening a very pleasant time was spent by members of the institute, the occasion being a farewell social to Mrs S. Bailey and Miss C Bailey, two members who are leaving the district. Shoulder sprays were presented" to the guests of honour and also to Miss N, Doak (president). The evening was spent in games and competitions and Mrs W. Doak played a pianoforte solo, Miss C. Bailey gave a recitation and Mesdames W. Doak and J. Sewell gave vocal solos. The winners of the competitions were Mesdames W. Cooke, Redway, and W. Doak.. The trophies won during the year were presented. Miss N. Doak presented Mrs Bailey and Miss Bailey with small parting gifts and said they would be greatly missed in the institute. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought the evening to a close.
