Motukarara

The annual picnic of the Tai Tapu Consolidated School was held at Selwyn Huts. The weather was all that dould be wished for, adding considerably to the day's enjoyment. There was a record attendance of pupils and adults. An interesting sports programme included races and novelty events for children and grown-ups. Fruit, sweets, and icecream were distributed throughout the day.

The annual group meeting of Peninsula and surrounding branches of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held at Allandale. Mrs Wickman, Dominion president, was the guest of honour. > Between 70 and 80 visitors sat down to luncheon provided by the Daimo'nd Harbour-Purau and Allandale-Gover-nor's Bay branches. During the afternoon Mrs Wickman addressed the meeting. Mrs Dulieu, of Greenpark, and Miss Small, of Governor's Bay, sang solos. The following 'branches were represented: ChofltonLittle Akaloa, Kaituna, Motukarara, Greenpark, Diamond Harbour-Purau, and Allandale-Governor's Bay. Mrs Agar, president of the Diamond Har-bour-Purau branch, presented Mrs Wickman with a bouquet and the president of each branch with a shoulder spray. While staying in the district, Mrs Wickman was the guest of Mrs Leonard Coop, Kaituna homestead, and Mrs Nutt, Motukarara. Mr F. Miller is at present visiting Dunedin and the southern lakes district. Mr and Mrs H. Cogall, Auckland, art the, guests of Mr and Mrs W. Newton.
