Lincoln
At the Lincoln School bath on Thursday afternoon, parents and pupils, gathered to gain instruction from Miss D. Bjrown; the Canterbury Swimming Centre's secretary. From 2 until 4.30, Miss Brown worked continuously, and pupils fom Tai Tapu, Greenpark, Ladbrooks, Ellesmere, Springstpn South, Broadfields, and Rolleston shared with the Lincoln school the benefits of her tuition. It was a real district rally and showed what could be done by thoughtful organisation. Mr CM. Blake, chairman of the Teachers' Lincoln Centre,
in thanking Miss Brown and also Mr TimmingS and Mr Evans (Ellesmere), who assisted, referred to the splendid work the Canterbury Centre was doing and to the untiring efforts of Miss Brown and other honorary members.
In the evening the Keep Pit Week closed with a monster impromptu programme in the Lincoln Public Hall. Mr Baxter O'Neill showed interesting and instructive films and there was an exceptionally big rally of parents, pupils, and teachers.
. On Saturday afternoon the Dunsandfel team visited Lincoln for a friendly tennis match, tSie home team winning by 15 sets to 6, with 3 sets unfinished. Scores (Lincoln names first):—

Mrs S. C. Birch, Gary, and Rodger have returned home after spending a holiday with Mrs Morris, of Rakaia.
Mrs L. Hamilton is spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs Blowers,. Christchurch. .
Misses M, E. and J. Wolfe have moved into the residence recently occupied by Mr and Mrs G. Gillatfc and family, Lincoln.
Dr M. C. Franklin has returned to take up duties at the Canterbury Agricultural College after several weeks spent in Australia.
