Springston

On Saturday afternoon a fire broke out in a plantation on Kimes's Estate and fanned by the wind soon had a strong hold. Calls made over the telephone brought a large number of willing workers to fight the fire, which was soon brought under control.

On Sunday evening the local Boy Scouts, under Scoutmaster Rev. H. Cottom, paraded and attended the Methodist Church. The service was conducted by the Rev. H. Cottom. The lesson was read by Graham Marshall, and the qualification of a scout were recited by Selwyn Millar. Wilfred Marshall was organist, John Cottom assisting with the comet.
