ELLESMERE GUN CLUB

PATTERSON MEMORIAL CUP.

On Saturday the Ellesmere Gun Club held its annual shoot for the Robert Patterson Memorial Cup, in fine weather, but with a strong northeast wind sweeping across the ground which made the shooting very difficult. In consequence the scoring was well below the usual standard. It was a 21-bird clay match and there were 11 Competitors. The winner of the trophy was F. L. Graham, who made 18 breaks. The runners-up were L. Chambers and J. F. Parkin, with 15 breaks each. Other scores were:—L. C. Lemon 14, J. Winchester 13, H. T. Stephens 12, W. L. Donald 11, E. A. Washbourne 10, W. Quigley 10, and W. H. Winchester 9.

Three six-bird sweeps were held. The first was won by W. Quigley with all on, while W. L. Donald, J. F. Parkin, L. C. Lemon and J. Winchester, each with five on, divided second and third money. In No. 2 sweep, L. Chambers and J. F. Parkin divided first and second money, and L. C. Lemon took third prize. L. Chambers was first in the third sweep, with W. L. Donald and E. A., Washbourne dividing second and third money.

Except for the Christmas shoot, this is the last match of the season. Next Thursday evening the club will hold its annual dance and presentation of trophies in Lakeside Hall.
