ALLOCATION OF CHAMPIONSHIP
POINTS
In connexion with the school sports held at Leeston on Friday it will be of interest to know that no individual prizes were awarded and the children were encouraged to compete for the joy of the contest and as worthy representatives of their respective schools. Points were awarded to successful competitors: Three for first, two for second and one for third and these points were credited to the schools concerned. At the end of the day the following points had been gained: Leeston 84 Lakeside - 47 Southbridge 44 £ Dunsandel 40 Leeston Convent 19 £ Doyleston 18 Brookside 17 Killinchy 17 Sedgemere 12 Irwell 1 As the competing schools varied j greatly in size, the points gained did not accurately represent the real merit of the performance by the various schools, when the roll number was taken into account, the table below showed the position arrived at. Lakeside School put up a most meritorious performance, gaining almost as many points as there were child-1 ren attending the school: — j
