REPRESENTATIVE MATCH.
INTER-CLUB PLAYERS DEFEAT ELLESMERE.
At Wilding Park, Christchurch, on Saturday, the Ellesmere Sub-Associa-tion's representative team played a match against a team drawn from the Christchurch inter-club competition players. The match resulted in a win for the inter-club players by 21 sets to 11. Details are given below, Ellesmere players being mentioned first: Men's singles: T. Free beat L. J. Broughton, 9-7; G. Leahy beat R. R. Roberts, 9-7; K. Macpherson beat J. Mosley, 9-4; F. A. Holley beat G. Hassall, 9-4; S. Duff beat E. Gant 7 9-8; A. J, Henderson lost to G. C. Carpenter, 4-9; W. C. Miller lest to F. Burgoyne, 4-9; R. Ford lost to J. L. Squire, 0-9.

The match was not finished, on account of rain, the men's doubles not being played. The result was a win for Leeston by 10 sets to 4.
