POWER BOARD WORK
ENGINEER-SECRETARY'S REPORT. Mr L. C. vicary, engineer-secretary, reported as follows to the Springs-El-lesmere Power Board yesterday: — During the month of October six new consumers have been connected, in addition to the wholesale consumers. The additional load connected to the Board's mains is as follows:— 3060 Lighting points 123.965 K.W. 57 Heating points 56.29 K.W. 4 ranges 30.33 K.W. 1 range (portable) 2.00 K.W. 3 Water-heaters 2.75 K.W. 2 Ovens 2.68 K.W. 9 Pump and Separator Motors 1.861 K.W. 131 General motors 1218.934 K.W. Total 1438.810 K.W. This makes the total load now connected as follows: — .. 18079 lighting points, 126 street lights, 4899 heating points, 101 ranges, 62 waterheaters, 338 pump and separator motors, 56 milking motors, 259 general motors; total, 5380.649 K.W. £1370 3 1 £1141 10 -8 I The increase? are: lighting, £62 16s lOd; heating, £89 19s 10d; power, £75 15s 9d. Work for the Month. — High tension to Mr Cunneen, Trent's road, has been completed and supply given to him. The erection of high tension line to supply Mr E. Guy, Yaldhurst, is in progress, and supply will be given within the week. A short extension of the low tension line on Harewood road has been completed to give supply to the Harewood Church. An extension to supply railway cottages at Dunsandel has been completed. Post and telegraph alterations at Springston have also been effected. The following installations have been carried out: 2 ranges, 1 water heater, 2 pump motors, 1 separator motor, 1 shearing motor. Extension to Messrs Payne and Blank. —The estimated cost of this extension is £280, for which a guarantee *>£ £35 per annum will be required. Mr G. G. Smith, of Broadfield, has decided to build a new house, and will put in a range if supply can be given. This entails altering the line from the
Wheatsheaf corner. An estimate has not yet been prepared. There are, jg -"- however, other residents in the vicinity '^~_ . ■who would like the current, and they will be interviewed, and an estimate prepared for the whole number.
Mr T. C. C. Gabbie, of Prebbletoh, has been called-, upon, but as- he _ was out at the time, this matter has been deferred..
Mr E. J. Smith, Springs road, Prebbleton, is considering putting in a range, and I have made offers to him to put one in on trial.
