A meeting of the Sedgemere-Lake-side Miniature Rifle Club is called for Thursday evening.
A meeting of the Ellesmere Aquatic Club is called for Saturday next, in Sedgemere Hall.
The Railway Department advertises dates of the issue and availability of holiday excursion tickets for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Entries for the Ellesmere Bowling Association's Annual Tournament, which takes place on December 26 and 27, close next Saturday with Mr R. J. Parkin, Southbridge.
Father Christmas will be in attendance at Mrs E. Slattery's toy cave and gift shop, Leeston, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons of next week from 3 to 4, also on Friday evenjng from 7 to 9.
At a meeting held at Lakeside last night, Mr L. C. Lemon (president) presiding, the Ellesmere Gun Club made arrangements for its Christmas shoot to be held on Thursday of next week. There will be four matches for good prizes. Programmes are being issued for distribution.
Last week an attractive programme was issued for the Springston Gun Club's annual Christmas shoot, which takes place on Saturday, December 24. There are four matches on the programme and in each case the first prize is a ham. In each match there are seven prizes, consisting chiefly of Christmas cheer.
A splendid programme has been prepared for the breaking up concert in connexion with the Southbridge District High School, which takes place on Friday next in the Town Hall. The children have been practising hard during the last week and a very enjoyable evening is promised. It is reported that tickets are selling very freely.
