ANZAC DAY.
ELLESMERE' S OBSERVANCE
SERVICE AT WAX MONUMENT.
Arrangements have been made to commemorate in this district the 12ta anniversary of the landing of the New Zealand troops on the Gallipoli Peninsula by the holding of a service »• on similar lines to the one held last Anzac Day at the County Memorial.
The service will commence at 3 p.m., and will be conducted by local clergymen. "Well-known hymns will be sung, and the EUesmere Brass Band will lead in these, besides playing the opening piece. ■ , Last year was the first occasion upon which an open-air service of this nature has been held in this county on Anzac Day, and the residents then showed their appreciation of the opportunity given them of commemorating the sacrifices made by New Zealanders in the [Great War. There is little doubt that I they will again honour the dead by their presence in similar numbers next j Monday. ,
Those who desire to place flowers at the base of the memorial may do so after the service.
