For an evening wedding, the first to take place in Southbridge, the seating capacity of St. John's Presbyterian Church was inadequate to aceomiuodate the large gathering of relatives and friends of the very popular young couple who entered upon the responsibilities of married life on the eve. of Good Friday. Campbell, of Christchurch, was solemnised by the Rev. T. G. Butler, of Eiccarton, formerly minister of the Southbridge charge. Music suitable to the occasion was provided by Mrs F. W. Scott, who presided at the organ, and the singing was led by a strong choir, composed chiefly of friends of the. bride. Mr Parkin gave his daughter away, and she made'a very charming bride, wearing a frock of primrose crepe de chine and georgette. Her tulle veil, which fell to the hem of her frock, was held in place by a circlet of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful bouquet of hot house flowers and maidenhair fern, tiied with tulle streamers. Mr Don Davis performed the duties of best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a floral horse shoo by iit-< tie Colleen Twiss.
