POWER BOARD
YESTERDAY'S MEETING,
In the absence of Mr J. Cunningham, Mr J. W_ Kime (deputy chairman), presided over yesterday's meeting of the Springs-Ellesmere Electric Power Board. There were also present: Messrs A. E. Langdale Hunt, G. Maginness and 11. Neavc. Mr Cunningham, sent an apology for absence.
WINDOW DISPLAY
In regard to the statement in the engineer's report, that, after having offered to let the Board have a window for display purposes at 10/- a week, the Farmers' Coop. Association had increased the price to 15/-, it was agreed to ask for an explanation as to the reason for the increase.
Mr Hunt: We shall have to tackle the question of building proper office and showroom accommodation of our own. All other power boards seem to have buildings of their own, with showrooms and show windows.
The engineer said that a proper show room and show window were badly needed. At present he was handicapped through lack of accommodation.
FINANCE
The financial statement gave the balances as follows: —No. 1 loan, credit £135 0s 6d; No. 2 loan, credit £149 0s 3d; No. 3 loan, credit, £1433 10s lld;----power fund account, debit £337 14s Bd. Accounts for payment out of fund account totalled only £66 19s 4d.
LOAN MONEY
Consent having been given, by Order in Council, to the raising of £3,000, being a proportion of the loan of £20,000 authorised by the ratepayers of the Springs and Ellesmere port-ion of the power district, it was decided to take up immediately such sums as. were required. The Board was not prepared to pay any brokerage. A firm of sharebrokers offered to take up the whole £20,000 or any part i thereof.
MOTUKARARA SUB-STATION,
The Banks Peninsula Power Board wrote that it was prepared to pay £175 cash for the Springs-Ellesinere Board's share in the Motukarara sub-station. This station was originally built to serve the needs of the two Boards, but Springs Ellesmere had since decided to give supply to its Greenpark consumers by another line.
The offer was referred to the cngi neer, with authority to negotiate a set

SUNDRY MATTERS
An application from Mr F. C. Bucktin, the Paparua foreman, for a fortnight's holiday, was "referred to the engineer to deal with.
Mr Bruce McLachlan, of Doyleston,
having given the necessary guarantee, it was decided that the engineer should proceed with the line to serve his
house,
