It is essential, in the best interests of the tournament, that preference in play shall be given to open events, but in order that progress in handicap events may not be unduly delayed, the committee may, at its discretion, scratch any player in a handicap, event who may be left in more than one open event, and where the opposing player in such handicap event is ready to play. The tournament will commence on Good Friday and will be continued on the following Saturday and Monday, and following days if necessary. Any player not being prepared to play when called upon by the committee may be scratched. There will be no adjournment for lunch, as refreshments will be available '<■ at the courts. No player will absent himself or herself from the ground , without having first obtained the per- - mission of the secretary. i Play' will commence at 10 a.m. ea I Friday and 9.30 a.m. each other mornI ing, and cease at 5 p.m.
