Lost 111 the Park.
A correspondent writes:—A' tradesman from Christchurch made ' his debut to the huts at the mouth' of the Rakaia rather unpleasantly the other evening. It was pitch dark and raining heavily when he arrived at Southbridge, so riding! his bicycle he went on his way.' Two miles out his lamp went outl and being a stranger in a strange' land he got a bit bewildered. How-.' ever, he decided to walk on, till he! came to several off roads. Here he! hesitated for several minutes and at last struck out for a light in the distance. This proved to be his star of hope but before reaching there, he had made the acquaintance of a wandering quadruped and waded j knee deep in a few slimy water; races. He was pretty well out of •' plumb " by the time he got to his destination. j
