In addi- \ turn to ordinary official contributions, such \. as the history of the month under Austra- • Usian skies and m other lands, Dr Fitchett v contributes the first of a series of special articles on India, These are to be beautifully illustrated, and will reflect the very latest opinions on the great Indian Empire. The first of the series is on the architectur- - al. -wonders of India. We shall look forward to the historical articles, such.for instance, as one which is promised with the title " The Ridge at Delhi, '• Other articles of note m this issue are Mr. Chas. Nuttall's second sketch on life m America, and a furthur batch of splendid pictures of the Solomons, by H. P. M. B. It is safe to say that no better pictures have ever been te* en m the Solomon Islands. Mr. H. G. Wells story, •• Kipps,' 1 - is completed, and Us reception by the critics m its volume form confirms the editorial judgement which selected it as the first serial story. An equally good one— •• Cbippinge," by Stanley Weyman-^wijl follow it immedlately, the first instalment appearing m March. The book department this month iis enriched by a fine three page report of Mark Twain's birthday dinner, including ' a verbatim report of the great humourist's speech. All the regular departments of "Lite" are up to the high standard that has been set for them, and the magazine continues to be of immense value to the busy man.
