(From our own Correspondent) Welcome Home at Poolburn There was a splendid gathering in the Poolburn Hall on Wednesday night, when two popular soldier lads and natives of the district were given an enthusiastic welcome home Trooper Eric Nicolson (from the Middle East) and Pvte James Noone (from the South Pacific). Mr W, Milne (chairman) welcomed the guests and Mr Nevill made each a presentation Mr L. Tilbury spoke for the R.S.A. and the recipients replied, Trpr. Nicolson specially thanking the ladies for the splendid parcels they had sent him.
