CLYDE SPORTS CLUB
A meeting to consider the advisability of forming an athletic sports club in Clyde was held in the To.wn Hall on Saturday night, when there was a fair attendance. Mr H. E. Stevens, who was voted to the chair, said that athletic sports were again be coming popular and there was no reason why a club should not be formed in Clyde. They were fortunate in having ideal grounds for the purpose. The Alexandra Society was holding its annual sports on January Ist and that body was prepare to assist Clyde if a meetir were held the following day. After some discussion it was decided to form the Clyde Amateur Athletic Club, and to hold a sports meeting on the 2nd of January.
The following office-bearers were appointed; President—Mr H. E. Stevens; Vice-presidents: Messrs Frank Lindsay and P. Miller ; Secretary and treasurer, Mr L. M- O’Donnell; Committee; Messrs D Sinclair E. Clarkson, J. Dore, Dougherty and Boardman, with power to add.
A meeting was fixed for Saturday 14th inst, when judges, etc* will be appointed The members subscription Was fixed at ss.
