The Mauiotoio Hockey Association s annual meeting takes place at Oturehua to-night.

The Annual meeting of the above held in Clyde Bowling Pavilion, Clyde, on Thursday last, was attended by Messrs A. Wilson (chair), H. E. Stevens (Clyde), W. Hewitt and W. Bringans (Alexandra High School), and C Burgess and A. McKcllar (Alexandra C!ub). ' Mr Hewitt explained that from information he had received, it appeared that the Cromwell Club were not likely to have a team but the High School would. After waiting tor Cromwell delegates, who did turn up, it was decided at 8.30. o’clock to go on with the business. The balance-sheet showing a credit balance of £lo Hi -Id was read and adopted. The annual report was also read and adopted. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The chairman reported that they had .broken away from Otago and as recommended by tlie last annual meeting an Association had been formed of the two Counties, Tuapeka and Vincent. The chairman in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, congratulated Mr Hewitt (secretary) on the excellent report. He also congratulated the Alexandra Club on winning the Bodkin Cup and the Alexandra High on their win in Dunedin It showed that they had just as good players here as in Dunedin. Mr Bring aus seconded, the report, and expressed pleasure at the happy position. He thought the chairman was rather modest and that the Clyde Club had to be congratulated on their unique showing in winning all three tournaments. Mr McKellar remarked that it was obvious that the members of Central had looked after the interests of the game. He also congratulated the Clyde Club on their good play. Mr Burgess also spoke on congratulatory terms. Election of office-bearers: — Mr Stevens moved that the President be appointed from this meeting, Seconded by Mr Bringans and carried. Mr Hewitt proposed that Mr A. Wilson be. re-elected \ president, this was seconded by Mr Bringans Both gentlemen spoke in flattering terms of Mr Wilson’s good work as president. Mr Wilson was unanimously elected, Vice-president, Mr W. Bringans; Secretary, Mr W. Hewitt (re-elected). The question of giving Mr Hewitt some tangible recognition of his services was loft in the hands of the President and Vice-president. Emergency Committee—President, Secretary and Mr Stevens. Selectors—Messrs W. Hewitt and A. Wilson. Auditor —Mr C. Burgess. The secretary was authorised to approach Cromwell with.a view to gating the Cromwell Club to continue to play. Notice of motion by Mr Burgess that the charge for admission to county matches and tournaments be amended, Air Stevens moved that Mr Hewitt and Mr Bringans be appointed a flag committee, with a recommendation to commence matches on May 3rd. — Carried. Delegates to Association, President and Vice-president. Mr Hewitt moved a hearty vote ol thanks to Mr W. K. George for his great services to hockey. He remarked that Air George would be greatly missed, as he was a good selector and the best referee they had—This was seconded by the President and carried. A vote of thanks was also passed to retiring delegates.
